With a slight decline in positive cases, Telangana registered 922 fresh coronavirus infections till 2000 hrs on Sunday taking the total to 2,40,970 so far.
The fall in the positive cases was mainly due to a dip in the tests on Sunday being a holiday.
Seven patients died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours pushing the overall COVID-19 deaths in the state till date to 1,348 constituting a case fatality rate of 0.55 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.5 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin on Monday.
As many as 1,456 patients have recovered from coronavirus between Saturday and Sunday taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 2,21,992 with a recovery rate of 92.12 per cent while the national recovery rate was 91.6 per cent.
The state now has 17,630 active cases including 14,717 individuals in home or institutional isolation.
About 26,000 samples were tested to detect the deadly virus out of which the results of
415 swab samples were awaited.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic about 44 lakh COVID-19 tests have been conducted
in the state so far.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation remained the top contributor of the virus
cases reporting a maximum of 256 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.
The day's remaining positive cases were contributed by other districts, the bulletin added.
