All residents of Thorang village of Lahaul valley in Himachal Pradesh, exclusion 52-year-old Bhushan Thakur, have tested positive for Covid-19. The Lahaul-Spiti valley has become the worst-affected district within the state in terms of population ratio.
The surge in cases in Lahaul valley has forced the administration to limit traveller movement to Teling valley close to the north portal of the Rohtang tunnel. Tourists weren't allowed to enter Lahaul villages on weekday. The villages on the far side the tunnel are became containment zones.
According to officers, Thorang village on the Manali-Leh main road has simply forty two residents as most of the people have migrated to Kullu for winter. The villagers had voluntarily determined to urge tested a couple of days back. Of the overall 42 samples, 41 tested positive.
