UP set to convert migrants problem into opportunity

Making a target to bring 2 million migrant labourers from other states, Uttar Pradesh government was burning its midnight oil to work out a strategy to provide these additional work force jobs as per their skill.

" We are trying to convert the challenge into opportunity to deal with such big worker force in the state during the lock down for which already labour reforms have been done ," said state chief minister Yogi Adityanath here on Saturday.

UP would develop on the lines of China and other countries like Bangladesh and Vietnam to promote the MSMEs and big industries. Besides the government was planning to develop UP as a hub of ready made garments of the world.

Reviewing the situation in the state with his Team 11 officials here, Yogi has asked the concerned officials to make the skill data of the of the 2 million migrant workers .

Already over 8 lakh migrant workers have arrived in the state and most of them are in home quarantine. Presently around 40 special trains are bringing over 50,000 migrant workers and their families every day in the state.

During the last three days 80 special trains had brought over 1.25 lakh workers from different states.

" UP government was committed to provide all help to these migrant workers along with providing them jobs as per their skill.We will ensure that the workers could get Rs 15,000 minimum wages guarantee in the state along with their life security and hours of their work, " the CM said.

Yogi Adityanath said that the women workers would get all security at the work while the new labour reforms would be enforced on the new as well as old manufacturing units.

He said that along with ready made garments, the state would be promoting small industries manufacturing perfume ,Dhoop batting, Aggarbatti, Agri products, Food packaging, milk products , agriculture products , flori culture and compost fertiliser.
