Continuing the surge in COVID-19 cases, Telangana recorded 337 new Coronavirus cases until 2000 hours on Sunday pushing the daily count of the positive cases in the state to 3,03,455 till date.
Two people lost their lives due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours taking the overall fatalities to 1,671 thus far translating a case fatality rate of 0.55 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Monday.
As many as 181 people have recovered from Coronavirus statewide to take the total number of recoveries as of Sunday to 2,98,826 constituting a recovery rate of 98.47 per cent while the National recovery rate was 95.7 per cent.
The active cases in the state currently stand at 2,958 including 1,226 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
Between Saturday and Sunday, 37,079 swab samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 404 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, more than 96.50 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) continued to be the chief contributor of the infection by registering a maximum of 91 new Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours followed by Rangareddy district (37), Medchal Malkajigiri district (28) and Nirmal district (18).
The remaining fresh COVID-19 cases have been reported by other districts, the bulletin added.
