Telangana reports 596 fresh COVID-19 positive cases, three fatalities until Friday night

Telangana's cumulative number of COVID-19 cases reached 2,72,719 till date with 596 fresh infections reported until 2000 hours on Friday.
The total toll climbed to 1,470 as three more patients died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours translating into a case fatality rate of 0.53 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.5 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin on Saturday.
As many as 921 persons have recovered from Coronavirus between Thursday and Friday pushing the total number of recoveries in the state so far to 2,62,751 constituting a recovery rate of 96.34 per cent while the National recovery rate was 94.3 per cent, the bulletin said.
The state now has 8,498 active cases including 6,465 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
Of the 59,471 swab samples tested to detect the contagious virus in the past 24 hours, the reports of 803 swab samples were awaited.
