Telangana reports 491 new COVID-19 positive cases, three fatalities until Monday night

With 491 fresh Coronavirus infections reported in Telangana until 2000 hours on Monday, the state's COVID-19 caseload has risen to 2,78,599 so far.

The overall fatalities in the state so far stood at 1,499 as three more patients lost their lives to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours translating a case fatality rate of 0.53 per cent as against the countrywide death rate of 1.5 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin on Tuesday.

As many as 596 people have recovered from Coronavirus between Sunday and Monday pushing the cumulative number of recoveries as on date to 2,69,828 constituting a recovery rate of 96.85 per cent while the National recovery rate was 95.1 per cent.

Currently, the state has 7,272 active cases including 5,169 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.

Of the 48,005 swab samples tested to detect the contagious virus in the last 24 hours, the reports of 587 swab samples were awaited.

More than 62 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state till date since the outbreak of the COVID-19.

Of the day's total infections statewide, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) had

reported a maximum of 102 positive cases followed by Ranga Reddy district (35) and Medchal Malkajigiri district (33).

The remaining fresh Coronavirus positive cases were reported from other districts, the bulletin added.
