Telangana records 238 new COVID-19 cases, two fatalities until Sunday night

With 238 fresh COVID-19 infections reported until 2000 hours on Sunday, the total number of Cumulative cases in Telangana reached 2,87,740 till date.


The cumulative COVID-19 deaths in the state mounted to 1,551 after two patients died of Coronavirus in the past 24 hours, translating a case fatality rate of 0.53 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Monday.


The overall recoveries in the state rose to 2,81,083 so far as 518 people have recuperated from Coronavirus between Saturday and Sunday constituting a recovery rate of 97.68 per cent while the National recovery rate stood at 96.2 per cent.


The active cases of coronavirus in the state now was 5,106 including 2,942 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.


During the last 24 hours, 27,077 swab samples have been tested to detect the contagious virus in the state and out of which the reports of 525 swab samples were awaited.


More than 70.18 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.


As usual, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) contributed a maximum of 60 fresh


coronavirus cases followed by Ranga Reddy district (26) and Warangal Urban district (20).


The day's remaining Coronavirus cases were registered by other districts, the bulletin added.
