Continuing the surge, Telangana recorded 1,196 fresh COVID-19 cases till 2000 hrs on Tuesday taking the case tally to 2,53,65 so far.
The state reported five fresh COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours pushing the cumulative COVID-19 toll to 1,390 constituting a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide death rate of 1.5 per cent, a state health department bulletin said on Wednesday.
The total number of recoveries in the state till now stood at 2,34,234 with 1,745 people recovering from coronavirus between Monday and Tuesday translating into a recovery rate of 92.34 per cent while the national recovery rate was 92.7 per cent.
Of the 18,827 active cases now in the state, 15,205 individuals are in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
In all,44,635 samples were examined to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 555 swab samples were pending.
About 47.30 lakhs COVID-19 tests were carried out in the state till date since the outbreak of the pandemic.
Among the districts, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation remained the top contributor of the virus cases by registering 192 fresh cases in the last 24 hours followed Rangareddy (121) and Medchal Malkajgiri *101).
The remaining positive cases of the day were reported by other districts, the bulletin added.
