In
a view to celebrate first official holiday declared by the Jammu and Kashmir
Government on account of Accession Day, the BJP unit on Monday took out
'Tiranga Yatra' amid dancing to the tunes of patriotic songs.
Taking to streets, hundreds of BJP
leaders, BJYM activists carrying placards, National Flags, took out the
'Tiranga Yatra' on motorbikes. Singing "mera rang de Basanti chola",
BJP leaders including J&K president Ravinder Raina, MP Jugal Kishore
Sharma, former minister Kavinder Gupta and BJYM leaders, expressed happiness
over "Accession Day" and thanked for declaring holiday on this day.
Raina said that on this day, Dogra ruler,
Maharaja Hari Singh signed instrument of accession with Union of India. "With
abrogation of Article 370, J&K became an integral part of India and
declaring holiday on this occasion is true tribute to our Dogra rulers”, he
said. He further said that every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir is in upbeat mood
on "Accession Day" and there are jubilations around.
