The
war between Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin
Pilot may have ended but the Congress government is not out of the troubled
waters.
Main opposition in the state, Bharatiya
Janata Party, had on Thursday announced that it would move a no-confidence
motion against the Gehlot government, soon after the Rajasthan Assembly session
will begin on Friday.
Making the announcement, Leader of Opposition
Gulabchand Kataria said that the Congress was trying to mend the part fabric
with patches but it has been torn. The BJP leader said, “Despite the efforts to
reconcile the two sides, one is headed towards Jaipur and another is going to
Jaiselmer”. Rajasthan BJP chief Satish Poonia claimed that Gehlot government
will fall due its own contradictions. Satish Punia said that they had been
accusing the BJP but their party had nothing to do with their internal rifts.
Satish Poonia said that the MLAs, the SOG team of Rajasthan Police was looking
for in Haryana and Delhi, are now coming to meet the chief minister at his
residence and the police are not even trying to meet them. Rajasthan Assembly
session is set to resume on August 14. The date for the Assembly session was
fixed last month after a lot of hue and cry amid speculations that Gehlot
government will have to prove its majority in the House as 19 MLAs, including
former deputy CM, Sachin Pilot, had rebelled against the chief minister.
While the Congress has been able to its
house in order before the session, the no-confidence motion likely to be moved
by the BJP may hold fresh surprises for the ruling party.
