Sports Authority of India (SAI) will bear the expenses of staying and eating in the hotel during the Quarantine time of badminton players Ajay Jayaram and Shubhankar Dey in Germany. Sai will pay the expenses incurred on humanitarian basis from October 30 to November 10.
Sai will pay a total of Rs 1.46 lakh for the stay and food expenses of both these players in the hotel. 90 percent of this amount will be released immediately. Sai is in constant touch with the Indian consulate in Frankfurt to assist in dealing with the situation that has arisen with both players.
Both players were to participate in the SaarLorLux Open Badminton Tournament in Saarbrücken, Germany this week, but both players withdrew from the tournament due to training with Lakshya Sen. Lakshya was already eliminated from the tournament as the Kovid investigation report of Lakshya's coach and father DK Sen came up positive on 27 October.
Ajay Jayaram and Shubhankar Dey's Kovid investigation report came negative when they reached Germany, but both these players trained with the goal. Both players withdrew from the tournament due to close contact with the goal, so as not to threaten the safety of the other players and hinder the running of the tournament.
