Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament House today.
PM Modi laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament House at 1.11 pm after Bhoomi Pujan in a ceremony organized on this historic occasion. On this occasion, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, several senior members of the Union Cabinet and a large number of MPs were present. Construction of the new parliament building is to be completed by 2022. The meeting will begin in the new building in the 75th year of the country's independence. The new parliament building will be equipped with modern technology. It will have state-of-the-art equipment for safety. Also, keeping the future in mind, the number of seats for members in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha chambers will also be increased.
