“The
BJP-led NDA Government’s policy and programs are poor-centric. We often lay
emphasis on the ground level development poorer sections”, said Prime Minister,
Narendra Modi.
Speaking
about the government’s initiatives on farmers’ welfare, the Prime Minister said
that at least two thousand crore rupees were deposited in millions of farmers
accounts under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sanman Nidhi Yojana in Maharashtra alone
over the past few months.
He
was addressing a public meeting in Sakoli block of the district in East
Vidarbha region of the state. Shri Modi said, 462 Eklawya Schools are being
opened throughout the country for Tribal Development.
Talking
about regional issues, Modi said that the long pending Irrigation and water
conservation works in Bhandara Gondia region of Maharashtra has got momentum
under newly launched Jal Jeevan Mission.
“The
long pending works of Gosikhurd Dam are being completed now. About Rs 3.5 lakh
crore will be used for water conservation and building resources for water
conservation under Ministry of Jal Shakti in days to come”, PM Modi added.
Mentioning
the progress of Maharashtra Government under leadership of Chief Minister,
Devendra Fadnavis, the Prime Minister said that Maharashtra was leading the
development front under his leadership.
