Oil prices in the international market rose strongly on Monday for the fourth consecutive day amid strong news of vaccine for corona virus.
Brent crude has reached $ 45 per barrel. On Friday, the prices of both fuels were increased for the first time after remaining steady for 48 days.
According to Indian Oil, a leading public sector oil marketing company, the price of diesel has been increased by 17 to 19 paise and petrol by seven paise per liter in four major metros of the country.
Diesel is costlier by 18 paise and petrol by 07 paise per liter in Delhi. According to Indian Oil, a leading oil marketing company, petrol in Delhi today costs Rs 81.53 while diesel is priced at Rs 71.25 per liter.
In the commercial city of Mumbai, petrol reached Rs 88.23 per liter and diesel reached Rs 77.73 per liter. Petrol in Kolkata rose to Rs 83.10 per liter and diesel to Rs 74.82 per liter. Petrol in Chennai was priced at Rs 84.53 per liter and diesel Rs 76.72 per liter.
