India’s Hydro-power generation company, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (NHPC Ltd) has reported a growth of 9.93% in the standalone net profit at Rs. 1339.46 Crore during the second quarter of current fiscal year (FY 2019-20).
It was estimated Rs. 1218.51 crore during
the same quarter last year. Profit after tax for the half year is Rs. 2220.60
Crore against Rs. 1956.08 Crore of the corresponding period.
Sales for the second quarter of the
current fiscal FY 2019-20 rose 4.25% to Rs. 2605.43 Crore, as compared to Rs.
2499.19 Crore reported in the year-ago period. Revenue is higher mainly due to
better operational efficiency, operation of Kishanganga Power Station and
revenue from Power Trading Business.
While, gross production of the company
was up by 6.58% to 17719 MU for April – September 2019, half year, in
comparison to the same period of the previous fiscal.
The NHPC Board approved the Q-2 FY
2019-20 unaudited financial results in their meeting held on November 11, 2019.
