As the death toll from the Novel Coronavirus crossed the 800-mark in China, India has offered assistance to deal with the situation arising from the outbreak in that country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a letter to President Xi Jinping expressed solidarity with the people of China over the nCoV epidemic, and condoled the deaths due to the virus outbreak in China's Hubei province, sources said.
He also appreciated the facilitation provided by the Chinese Government for evacuation of Indian citizens from Hubei province earlier this month, the letter said.
On February 1 and 2, 600 Indians were evacuated from Wuhan, where the deaths have been reported, and housed them in two quarantine facilities in Delhi and Manesar in Haryana.
Mr Modi offered India's assistance to China to face the challenge, the sources said.
A total of 811 people have died of the coronavirus infection so far while the number of confirmed cases has gone up to 37,198, latest data by Chinese authorities shows.
He also thanked Mr Xi for offering assistance in evacuation of Indians from China's Hubei province.
