Mahant Swami Maharaj's Esteemed Arrival for the Inauguration of BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi

Mahant Swami Maharaj graced Abu Dhabi as an esteemed state guest on February 5, 2024, for the momentous inauguration of the BAPS Hindu Mandir. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan extended a warm welcome, expressing gratitude for the presence of His Holiness and acknowledging the blessings and prayers felt by the nation.

The BAPS Hindu Mandir, situated in the Abu Mureikhah district, marks a significant milestone as the first traditional Hindu stone temple in the Middle East. This architectural marvel stands as a symbol of the enduring friendship between India and the UAE, exemplifying cultural harmony and collaboration.

The project's realization owes much to the generosity of the UAE government and its rulers. In 2015, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan donated 13.5 acres for the Mandir's construction, and during the Year of Tolerance in January 2019, an additional 13.5 acres were allocated, making a total of 27 acres gifted for the Mandir.

Upon arrival, Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance for the UAE, personally greeted Mahant Swami Maharaj, expressing heartfelt sentiments. His Excellency remarked, "Welcome to the UAE. Our nation is blessed with your presence. We are touched by your kindness and we feel your prayers." In response, Mahant Swami Maharaj conveyed gratitude, stating, "We are touched by your love and respect. The leaders of the UAE are great, good, and large-hearted."

As befitting his status as a state guest, Mahant Swami Maharaj received an honorific Arabic-style welcome, featuring traditional performances like Al-Ayyala, typically reserved for national holidays and dignitaries.

His Holiness, the guru of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, inspires millions worldwide through virtues of devotion, humility, and service. The inauguration of the Mandir will be celebrated through the 'Festival of Harmony,' encompassing uplifting programs and community events aimed at fostering faith, community service, and harmony across generations and backgrounds.

The grand inauguration ceremony of the Mandir is scheduled for Wednesday, February 14, with esteemed dignitaries, including Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, in attendance. Brahmaviharidas Swami, overseeing the Mandir project, expressed that it serves as a spiritual oasis for global harmony, a timeless testament to the spirituality of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj and the friendship between the leaderships of the UAE, India, and BAPS.
