Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that the NDA Government is in the mood to play on the fast track and has scored a century of decisions in the first eight months of its tenure.

Addressing a summit of a private television channel, the PM said that the India of today wants to play on a fast track and is working on an action plan for the next decade.

‘’The youngest country of the world is now in the mood to play on the fast track,.. The century of decisions that the country has taken in the first eight months of its tenure is unprecedented.’’

He said that these changes happening in the country have infused new energy at every level of the society and filled it with confidence.‘’ This is creating confidence among the poor that they can improve their standard of living,’’the PM said.

On the target of achieving a five trillion dollars Economy in the next five years, he said that it is not easy but it is also not that it cannot be achieved. Mr Modi said that for this it is necessary that manufacturing and exports in the country be increased. The government has taken many decisions keeping this in mind. He said, "In the midst of these efforts, it is also true that a country with an emerging economy like India faces more challenges. There are also ups and downs and the impact of global conditions has to be borne," the PM said.

Referring to the change in the tax system, he said that the government has made the tax system citizen-centric. "Often these efforts of the government do not make headlines but today we have joined the few countries of the world, where the taxpayer's charter which clearly defines rights of tax payers will also apply. When many people do not pay tax and find ways of not paying tax, then the burden of all this falls on those who pay the tax honestly. Therefore, today I would urge every Indian to introspect on the issue. Is this situation acceptable to them," the PM said. He said that media has played a huge role in the creation of independent India and now media should expand its role in building a prosperous India too.
