India's total recovered Covid cases cross landmark peak of 95L; active cases at 3.13L

In a landmark achievement in the fight against the global pandemic on Friday, India's total recovered cases crossed a crucial peak of 95 lakh -- 95,20,827.
New recoveries have exceeded new cases continuously since the past 21 days and the gap between active and recovered cases is continuously widening.
Recoveries surpassed the active cases by more than 92 lakh while the recovery rate has also increased to 95.40 per cent, making India one of the top countries with the highest recovery rate globally, an official release here said.
Despite 338 case fatalities reported in the past 24 hours, daily deaths in India are on a sustained decline. Less than 500 daily deaths have been registered since the past 13 days.
The total recovered cases were more than 30 times the number of active cases. India’s present active caseload of 3,13,831 consists of just 3.14 per cent of India’s total positive cases.
In the past 24 hours, only 22,890 infected were reported in India against 31,087 new recoveries.
Five states account for 51.76 per cent of the total recovered cases in the country.
As much as 75.46 per cent of the new recovered cases are concentrated in 10 states/UTs. Kerala reported the maximum single day recoveries with 4,970 newly-recovered cases followed by Maharashtra and West Bengal with 4,358 and 2,747 recoveries respectively.
A whopping 76.43 per cent of the new cases were from 10 states and UTs led by Kerala which reported the highest daily new cases at 4,969. West Bengal and Chhattisgarh were next with 2,245 and 1,584 new cases, respectively.
Of the 338 deaths reported in the past 24 hours, 10 states/UTs accounted for 75.15 per cent of the new deaths. Maharashtra saw the maximum casualties (65), followed by West Bengal and Delhi with 44 and 35 daily deaths, respectively.
