Army Chief General MM Naravane on Wednesday visited the forward areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in East Ladakh and reviewed the security situation including operational preparedness of the troops.
An army officer said that General Narwane reached Leh on a day-long tour of the Fire and Fury Corps. He said that Lt. General PGK Menon, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Fire and Fury Corps, welcomed the Army Chief. General Narwane also inspected the location of the residence of the troops stationed in the front line at Rechin La, where the Indian Army and the People's Liberation Army of China had stalled in September. The Army Chief appreciated the efforts made to make the troops comfortable on LAC. General Narwane reviewed the situation near the LAC and was apprised of the operational preparedness of the forces by the GOC Fire and Fury Corps and other local commanders.
