Five bodies were found in a house in Old Seemapuri area here on Wednesday.
It is suspected that they died of suffocation after inhaling smoke from an ‘Angithi’ as the room did not have any ventilation, police said on Wednesday.
The police said they received a PCR call at around 1:30 pm regarding 4-5 persons lying unconscious on 5th floor room in a house, in Old Seemapuri area. Then police rushed at the spot where three kids and one woman were found dead and one child was taken to hospital who was also declared dead there.
It is suspected that they died of suffocation due to ‘Angithi’ being used to warm the room as the smell of smoke was present in the room. There was no ventilation inside the small room as a result it was suffocated with smoke, said police.
The crime team and FSL were called to collect evidence for further investigation.
