Strong earthquake tremors were felt in central Chile and the earthquake on the Richter scale measured 5.5.
The US Geological Survey reported today that the tremors were felt at 4.52 am Greenwich time. The epicenter of the quake was located in the central region of Maule at a depth of 36 km to the west of Rauko City and at a depth of 58.3 km from the ground surface. So far, there have been no reports of loss of life or property from the earthquake.
