A 35-year-old man in Delhi with a travel history from Zimbabwe has been confirmed with the Omicron on Saturday, sources told UNI.
The patient, who returned from Zimbabwe on December 5 was tested for COVID-19 after he arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport, sources said.
After his report came positive, the patient was shifted to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital (LNJP) Hospital at its dedicated ward for suspected and confirmed cases of Omicron, they added.
According to the doctors, the patient has a mild disease and has been isolated to avoid transmission of infection to other patients.
"His disease is mild in nature and stable so far. We haven't seen it progressing towards severity," a senior doctor managing the facility told UNI.
With the latest case, the tally of Omicron cases in Delhi has risen to two while 33 such cases have been identified in the country so far.
