Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Nagaland counterpart Neiphiu Rio on Thursday called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah here.

During the meeting, they discussed several issues pertaining to the region.

The issues discussed included inter-state boundary between both the states, sources said.

Taking to micro-bloggimg site Twitter, Sarma said they discussed various important issues, and expressed gratitude to Shah for his guidance.

Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and former Chief Minister TR Zeliang were also present.

The meeting comes a day after Sarma held a meeting with his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad K Sangma over inter-state border issue in Guwahati, Assam.

On Tuesday, the Home Minister had held a meeting with Assam Chief Minister and his Arunachal Pradesh counterpart Pema Khandu over various issues, including inter-state boundary and Chakma Hajong.

Last month, Shah had held a meeting with Sarma and Mizoram CM Zoramthanga over boundary issue. Both the CMs had agreed to constitute a committee each to resolve the issue through 'dialogue'.

Last week, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai had said in the Lok Sabha that the Centre acts as a falicitator for amicable settlement of inter-state border disputes.
