New Delhi, Dec 23 (UNI) People of the national capital on Thursday woke up to yet another cold morning, while the overall air quality plunged to 'severe' category from 'very poor'.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature was recorded at 5.5 degree Celsius, two notches below normal.
The weather department said the maximum temperature is likely to settle at 24 degree Celsius.
Meanwhile, the air quality slipped to 'severe' category with the overall air quality index (AQI) clocked at 455.
The IMD in its forecast said the air quality is likely to remain in the 'very poor' category for the next two days.
"The air quality over Delhi-NCT is likely to improve marginally but remain in the "very poor" category on December 24 and 25," it said.
