Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair an all-party meeting here in Delhi at 1100 hours over the COVID-19 situation in the national capital. Mr. Shah had called for this meeting on Sunday in view of the city's deteriorating COVID-19 situation.
Political parties based in the National Capital including Congress, BJP, AAP and also the BSP's Delhi unit are likely to attend the meeting.
Apart from the political representatives, the Health Secretary of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,
Delhi Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Health of the Delhi Government will be present in the meeting.
The city has been continuously witnessing sharp spikes in the infections over the past two weeks after the Centre relaxed norms and began with the unlocking of the nation wide lock-down.
Meanwhile, Shah on Sunday held a review meeting with the Delhi L-G and CM along with Disaster Management Authority officials and AIIMS chief to discuss the COVID status here and ways to manage the situation effectively as it was deteriorating with cases rising rapidly.
Subsequently, the HM also held another meeting with the city Mayors and the Municipal Corporation chiefs.
Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan was also part of both the meetings wherein several issues revolving around the COVID situation and its management were discussed in detail.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the meeting with the Home Minister was 'extremely productive' and added that the center and state combined will fight the contagion that has escalated in the city.
