Seventeen people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the past 24 hours, taking the state's caseload to 16553.
Of the new positive cases, five cases were reported from Tawang, three each from Changlang and East Siang, one each from Siang, Lohit, West Kameng, Papum Pare, Upper Siang and Tirap, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services (DHS).
Out of these, eight patients are symptomatic and nine asymptomatic.
On the other hand, 21 patients were discharged across the state, taking the total recoveries to 16264. Active cases stood at 234.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu in a tweet wrote, "Arunachal Pradesh Police is now #COVID19 free with 100% recovery. Congratulations to @ArunachalPolice for the success story. In coming days we hope Arunachal Pradesh will be 100% #COVIDFree."
State has recorded 55 fatalities so far.
