During the farmers' agitation in protest against the three new agricultural laws of the central government, a large number of demolition of telecom towers has severely affected the connectivity services and affected about 1.5 crore consumers and the Corona crisis Students studying from home and work to home professionals in the US are in the most difficulty.

Today is the 35th day of farmers' demonstration. Today, the seventh round of talks with the government is to be held. Amidst all this, the effect of the agitation of the movement is beginning to be seen with each passing day. Earlier, rail and roads were being stopped, but now gradually the incidents of sabotage have also started increasing.

According to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), there are 39 million mobile users in Punjab. Among them, according to Reliance Jio, it has about 1.5 crore consumers.

Nearly 2000 mobile towers of Reliance Jio have been damaged in the name of agitation in Punjab. The appeal of Chief Minister Captain Amarendra Singh and Chetwani too could not have much effect. On Tuesday, the Cellular Operators Association of India (COIA) also expressed concern and fears that the towers could be sabotaged. COAI is an association of companies like Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea.

The anger of supporters of the farmers' movement is visible on the towers of Reliance Jio as they fear that Mukesh Ambani and Adani's companies will get the most benefit from the new agricultural laws, although neither Ambani's Reliance Group nor Adani's companies Are in the business of buying food grains from farmers. Not only this, the products of Baba Ramdev's Patanjali have also started coming up.

Chief Minister Captain Singh's warnings and appeals from farmer organizations have proved to be baseless. COAI, a joint association of telecom companies like Airtel, Voda-Idea and Reliance Jio, and the Association of Tower Companies, Tower and Infrastructure Providers Association (TAIPA), have also appealed not to damage the tower in Punjab. The vandalism continues despite the Chief Minister warning of strict action. There is a clear lack of government orders. However, the police has definitely come into action.

Reliance Jio is rapidly repairing some towers that have been damaged due to demolition in the last few days. According to sources, a total of 826 sites were down as of Tuesday evening. Jio has about nine thousand telecom towers in the state.

In September 2020, Reliance Industries sold the bulk of Jio's telecom tower assets to Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP of Canada. The deal was done for Rs 25,215 crore. This means that the farmers who are considering the tower Reliance Jio are breaking, in fact, Brookfield of Canada also has a stake in it and the damage of this sabotage will also be done to Brookfield.

According to experts, the loss of property of the Canadian Brookfield Company will hurt India's international image and investment prospects. Constant opposition to industries will also increase the risk of migration from Punjab.

The common people believe that apart from political loss, no one gets any benefit from loss of government or private property. Cutting the power supply of mobile towers is like relaxing the lifeline of the state. Children are bereft of online classes, those in Kovid who were working from home i.e. work from home. They have also been pushed into danger. The business of youth associated with online business has slowed down.
