E&M E personnel in the station, Maj Gen, V R Deshmukh, paid homage to the
gallant heroes of the Corps. “Over the last seven decades, the E&M E has
been providing engineering and technical supports to the Indian Army. The Corp
often maintains the operational fitness of all equipment including vehicles,
tanks, guns, communication equipment, radars, missile systems and helicopters.
All rank of the Corps have been involved in providing innovative solutions to
complex engineering issues”, a statement from the PIB (Defense), Chandigarh,
reads.
It has taken
the lead in the indigenization drive and is contributing in many ways to Modi
Government’s 'Make in India' concept. The Corps has metamorphosed itself to be
in sync with the emerging technologies and adapted itself to devise innovative
solutions to enhance equipment availability. The Corps has always been at the
forefront in the field of technology and has spawned sport legends like Milkha
Singh, Maj HPS Ahluwalia , Brig Raj Manchanda to name a few. Over the years,
the soldier- craftsmen have earned laurels and proved their mettle in all
fields living up to the Corps motto ‘Karam Hi Dharam’.
