Gesturing to end alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena has pulled out its sole minister, Arvind Sawant, from Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s cabinet couple of days ago.
However,
the party has decided to negotiate with the rival alliance comprising Congress,
NCP and others.
On
the other hands, Uddhav Thackeray proposed the topic again at his media
briefing. He accused the BJP leadership attempting to corroborate him as a
‘liar’. He also claimed that there was a deal between the BJP and the Sena to
share the Chief Minister’s post.
On
Wednesday, the BJP Chief, Amit Shah, shot back and wondered whether it was
true. He stressed that the Sena never objected to the BJP projecting its
presumptive chief minister during campaigning for the elections.
The
BJP Chief said, “Before the elections, we (Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and
Amit Shah) repeatedly said if our alliance wins, then Devendra Fadnavis would
be the CM. That time no body objected”.
The
presidential order was issued on the recommendation of Maharashtra governor
Bhagat Singh Koshyari who told the Centre that he was satisfied that it was
impossible to constitute and form a stable government in the state for now.
Koshyari’s
recommendation was sent to the Centre before the expiry of his deadline to the
NCP.
The
Sena said it was interested but could not prove its majority within the 24-hour
timeline outlined by Raj Bhavan.
